Unsightly facial and leg veins can harm your self-esteem and confidence. Laser vein treatments offer men and women an alternative to painful injections for embarrassing veins on the face and body. The team of skilled experts at the Center for Women’s Health performs laser vein treatments with the Cutera® laser, an innovative system that delivers safe, effective laser energy for optimal results. Laser vein treatments are available at their offices in Sugar Land and Richmond, Texas. To schedule a consultation, call the clinic nearest you or make an appointment online today.
The advanced technology of the Cutera laser delivers pulses of light to the blood vessels beneath your skin, without harming your skin’s surface. The laser energy destroys and breaks apart the blood vessel tissue. As your body gradually reabsorbs the damaged tissue, your veins become less visible, and may eventually be eliminated entirely.
The most common areas for laser vein treatment are the face and legs. However, the skilled team at the Center for Women’s Health uses the Cutera laser to address visible veins anywhere on your body.
The team treats several different types of vascular lesions, including:
Laser vein treatments can be performed on all skin tones as well as suntanned skin. However, laser therapy is not useful for treating varicose veins that appear knotty and protruding.
You can expect to feel a mild stinging sensation as your provider uses the Cutera handpiece to deliver the laser energy to the veins below the surface of your skin. Most patients find this to be tolerable; however, if you have very sensitive skin, you can request that your provider apply a topical anesthetic gel before beginning your treatment.
Most patients can resume normal activities immediately following their laser vein treatment; however, your provider may recommend that you avoid vigorous exercise for the next 24 hours. If you had larger veins removed from your legs, you might need to wear support hose for a few days after your procedure.
You may experience some mild redness or bruising, but these side effects usually subside quickly. Removal of large veins may cause temporary pigment changes in the treated area. More severe side effects are possible but rare.
The number of treatments required depends on the size, amount, and color of the blood vessels to be removed. Following your consultation, your Center for Women’s Health expert will design a treatment plan to achieve optimal results.
